A few weeks ago when visiting Wikipedia I noticed a little banner at the top of the page soliciting donations. Judging by the rate at which the money was being donated I figured they would reach the $1 Million mark within a month or so. Well, it looks like they did it. As of my most recent visit to they had received exactly $1,016,527.06 in donations, just over $1 million. Congratulations Wikimedia! By the way, for those of you who aren’t aware, the Wikimedia Foundation is the parent of not just Wikipedia, but also several other interesting projects. Wikipedia just happens to be the largest and most well known.
